SAVAR (DHAKA): Law enforcers on Wednesday detained a couple on charge of killing their 4-month old child, Jannatul Ferdous Tanha, in Savar municipality area of the district.

The detainees are identified Shahjahan Rubel and his wife Taslima Akhter Shukhi of the area.

Local people said they--husband or wife--might have killed the child early Wednesday.

On information, police recovered the body and nabbed the couple.

Deceased’s father Shahjahan Rubel told banglanews after returning home from work in the noon that he found Tanha sleeping and called her but found her dead.

“Then I asked people to find out the reason,” he added.

Confirming the matter, Sub-Inspector of Savar Model Thana Shamsuzzaman told banglanews that they recovered the body of Tanha and sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue.

He added: “We have brought them to the thana for interrogation.”
