DHAKA: Clients do not need to wait months after months for electricity connections. They will get it after only 40 days of their applications, said Nasrul Hamid, the state minister for power, energy and mineral resources affairs.

He said at the inaugural ceremony of the Real Estate & Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) Fair 2014 at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in city.

The state minister said I have heard that clients face harassment in getting electricity connections. They wait months after months.

This sort of harassment will be ended. They will get electricity connections by 40 days, he added.

Regarding power price hike, Hamid said people who live in cities and use more units of electricity; they will pay some money more. It is needed to keep the development continued.

He further said that the government is working to solve gas crisis. Two gas compressors will be setup in April.
