GAIBANDHA: Two people, including a medical representative, were killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Rangpur highway at Gobindaganj upazila in the district on Thursday noon.

The deceased were identified as area manager of Aristo Pharma Ltd Shahin Khan, son of one late Sultan Khan, hailed from Depagi Thana of Barguna district and Marium Begum, 55, wife of one late Khoka Mia, hailed from the upazila.

Officer-in-Charge of Govindaganj Highway Thana Faruk Hossain told banglanews that a rashly driven Rangpur-bound passenger bus knocked motorbike of Shahin and a passerby Marium Begum in Panthapara area of the upazila, leaving them dead on the spot.

Police seized the bus but the driver managed to flee, he added.
