Death-row convict dies at Kashimpur jail

GAZIPUR: A death-row convict, who was detained in Kashimpur High Security Jail, died at Gazipur Sadar Hospital on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Rahim Khan, 70, son of Aziz Khan, hailed from Oshtobagh under Sadar Thana of Kishoreganj.

He was sentenced to death in a killing case.

Police and prison sources said that Rahim Khan was rushed to prison hospital after he complained of chest pain on Friday night.

Later, he was shifted to the Gazipur Sadar Hospital as his condition deteriorated and died there.

Jaydevpur Thana Sub-Inspector Kamrunnahar told banglanews that His dead body been handed over to his relatives after autopsy.

Senior Jail Super Abdur Razzaque of Kashimpur Hagh Security Jail filed an unnatural death case in this regard, the SI added.
