DHAKA: An official was sacked and two others were suspended in Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital on Saturday following a patient died after being locked in the hospital lift.
Sources said the punitive actions were taken against them after Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim ordered.
A 3-member investigation committee also was formed in this regard, sources added.
On Friday afternoon, a patient--Sultana Kamal, 35--died after being locked with her relatives and a trolley-man in a lift of the hospital while returning to her ward.
Victim’s relatives alleged that if the authorities of the hospital took quick steps to rescue them, Sultana Kamal might not died.
