DHAKA: Two shops were burnt to ashes when a fire broke out at Pallabi Shopping Centre in Mirpur area of the city early Sunday.

The incident took place at 3:00am. No casualties were reported.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Pallabi Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sayed Ziauzzaman said being informed, eight fire fighting units rushed to the spot and douse the flame.

The fire, which burnt two shops to ashes, was extinguished after half-an-hour of efforts, Mirpur Fire Service senior station officer Abdulah Al Arif told banglanews.

The fire might have originated from eclectic short circuit. The extent of loss from the fire was not estimated immediately.
