CHITTAGONG: Miscreants hacked a woman along with her daughter to death at their residence in Agrabad area of Doublemuring thana in the port city on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Rezia Khatun, 50, wife of Rezaul Karim, the director of FN Trading Corporation, and their daughter Saima Nazneen, 16, an SSC examinee from Agrabad CDA Girls School.

Police sources said noticing them lying on a pool of blood in the floor of their flat--house no. 129 on road no. 17 in Agarabad CDA Residential area--Saima’s friends informed neighbours.

Later, being informed from locals, police rushed to the spot at 11:30 am and sent them to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where duty doctor declared them dead.

Additional deputy commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (west) SM Tanvir Arafat confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Family sources suspect that a youth, Raihan aged 25, who used to stalk Saim, might have killed her and her mother.
