ACC for Padma Oil MD penalty

CHITTAGONG: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) asked Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation to punish state-owned Padma Oil Company Limited managing director Abul Khaier Bhuiyan.

ACC sources said the order came after investigations into the allegations of three cases that were proved against him.

The investigations found that some 88 contractual employees were given appointment to the company in three phases during the period of January 26 to March 3, 2010 without maintaining rules and regulations.

The ACC filed three cases with the Sadarghat Police Station on July 10 in 2013 in this connection.

Meanwhile, an ACC deputy director was appointed to probe into the wealth statement of Abul Khaier.
