JESSORE: A man was chopped to death by miscreants in Dhopadi Natun Bazar area under Avaynagar upazila of the district on Tuesday noon.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Halim, 40, a poultry trader, hailed from Dhopadi Islampara.

Local sources said local terror Rafiqul and his cohorts demanded subscription to Halim illegally. Later, Halim filed a general diary (GD) with Avaynagar Thana in this regard.

Later, following the GD the miscreants led by Rafiqul attacked him with lethal weapon, leaving him dead on the spot.

Meanwhile, four miscreants injured as locals beat them and sent them to Khulna Medical College Hospital.

Officer-in-Charge of Avaynagar Thana Molla Khabir Uddin told banglanews police forces are trying to detain the killers.
