CHANPAINAWABGANJ:  A man was killed and another injured in cocktail blast at Shibganj Shaheed Minar of the district while people placing floral wreaths early Wednesday.  

The deceased was identified as Sujan.

The explosion took place around 12:01 am while people from all walks of life thronged the Shaheed Minar to pay homage to martyrs to mark the 44th Independence Day, leaving two—Sujon and Bashar-- injured critically.

The injured were Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where Sujon succumbed to his injuries in the morning.
