CHITTAGONG: Two youths were arrested for their involvement in Monday’s killing of mother and daughter in the port city early Wednesday.

The arrestees are Abu Raihan, 24, and Md. Shahid, 20.

Detective Branch of Chittagong Metropolitan Police nabbed Raihan in Malibag area of capital Dhaka at 5:00am while Shahid from Khulshi area of the port city at the same time.

CMP additional deputy-police commissioner (DB) Babul Akhter told banglanews “The duo admitted the killing of mother and the daughter and gave details on why and how they carried out the killing.”

“Raihan killed them as he failed to have an affair with Saima, he is being taken to Chittagong from Dhaka,” Babul added.

Rizia Akhter and her SSC examinee daughter Saima Nazneen were hacked to death at their residence in CDA residential Area of Agrabad of the city on Monday.
