FROM NATIONAL PARADE GROUND: Bangladesh broke the world record “unofficially” by thronging the largest population to National Parade Square aiming to sing the national anthem together Wednesday morning.
It is only a matter of time now to get the official recognition from Guinness World Records.
A total of 1.60 lakhs people entered into the National Parade Ground at Tejgaon of the city at 8:55am for “Lakho Konthe Sonar Bangla” event to sing “Amar Sonar Bangla” there.
Some 2.26 lakhs people were counted there till filling this report 10:15am.
Around 50 thousand people also gathered outside the ground.
According to GWR, the greatest number of people to sing the same National or regional anthem at the same time was 121,653, and was achieved by Sahara India Pariwar (India), in Lucknow, India, on 6 May 2013.
All the participants dressed in same uniform and came from within a 400km radius of the venue. The number was verified by professional audit firms with two GWR Adjudicators present. 2,564 participants were discounted.
