JESSORE: A village doctor was shot to death by unidentified assailants at Mirzapur under Kesabpur upazila of the district on Wednesday night.

The deceased was identified as Subrata Kundu, 32, son of Kartik Kundu of Sreerampur village.

Kesabpur thana officer-in charge Abdul Jalil told banglanews, miscreants opened fire targeting Jalil around 10:00am, while he was returning home from Gopalpur Bazarm, leaving him dead on the spot.

On information, police rushed in and recovered the body.
