DHAKA: The investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) submitted the final probe report on Thursday noon seeking ban of Jamaat-e-Islami for their involvement in crimes against humanity during liberation war in 1971.
Investigation officer of the case Motiur Rahman handed over the report to prosecution at 1:24pm.
Jamaat trial will be an example in the world, commented International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) chief prosecutor Golam Arif Tipu after receiving the probe report on the ban of Jamaat-e-Islami.
Tipu told media on Thursday noon after receiving the report by the investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT).
The 337-page final report prepared in the light of International Crimes (Tribunals) of 1973, investigators sought ban of Jamaat and all its front organizations in Bangladesh.
Tipu said that a team headed by Barrister Turin Afroz will scrutinize the report then it will be submitted to the tribunal.
Among others, Zeyad Al-Mamun, Saiful Islam, Tapas Kanti and Rezia Sultana were present at the briefing.
Earlier, on Tuesday morning, the tribunal investigation agency informed in a briefing that a report containing 373-page has been prepared against Jamaat-e-Islami as a whole for opposing the liberation war using arms.
