Bangladesh role model in many fields

DHAKA: Susana Malcorra, United Nations Chef de Cabinet to the Executive Office, said Bangladesh made major strides especially in the economic development, empowerment of women, poverty alleviation, even in global peace keeping.

The impressive performance helped Bangladesh in achieving international recognition as a role model, she added.

Susana said that though Bangladesh is going ahead though facing so many obstacles. Mentioning various steps of present government she said according to vision twenty-twenty one Bangladesh will be the middle income country in 2021.

Bangladesh Permanent Mission at United Nations (UN) in New York arranged a program marking the 44th Independence Day. By cutting cake the Bangladesh permanent representative to the UN, AK Abdul Momen inaugurated the program.

Abdul Momen said that the March 26 of the year is special and different as Bangladesh set world record by singing its national anthem with 2,54,681 voices together at the National Parade Ground in Dhaka.

Recalling the supreme sacrifice of martyrs in 1971, AK Abdul Momen said, “We have to go forward through the inspiration of their sacrifice and victory.”

Following the day Bangladesh Mission published a magazine named ‘Bangladesh Marching Toward Progress”. And various countries and organizations sent greeting messages.
