NARAYANGANJ:  A fire broke out at a power loom factory at Gopadi Bazar in Gopaldi Mosque-2 area under Araihazar upazila of the district Friday noon.

The cause of fire origination could not be known immediately.

On information, four fire fighting units rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control after two hours effort.

Sources said that the fire originated around 1:15 pm and spread out to adjacent area, leaving around 600 power looms burnt.

Victims claimed that the fire burnt wealth worth around Tk 5 crore.

Araihajar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Gulshan Ara Begum told banglanews that loss from the fire could not be esteemed yet.
