AKHAURA, BRAHMANBARIA: Rail communications on Chittagong-Sylhet-Dhaka routes resumed early Saturday after a four-hour halt due to derailment of a container train in the upazila.

The train movement became normal at 12:30am. Akhaura Rail Station cabin master Habibur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Earlier, communications of Chittagong-Sylhet-Dhaka rail routes came to a halt as a compartment of a container train derailed in Gangasagor Rail Station area of the district at 8:30pm Friday.

Later, a relief train from Akhaura rescued the derailed one and brought normalcy to the train movement.
