DHAKA: Three members of a family sustained severe burn injuries in a gas cylinder explosion at a house in city’s Kamrangir Char area on Saturday.

The victims were identified as Aklima Begum, 50, her daughter Joly Akter, 28, wife of Ramjan Ali and their two-year old son M Alif, residents of the area.

Ramjan Ali said that three of his family members were burnt as a gas cylinder exploded in the kitchen around 11:00am.

The critically injured were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital by locals.

On-duty doctors of burn unit of the hospital said that the condition of the victims is very critical as most of the body parts of them were burnt severely.
