HABIGANJ: Two pedestrians were killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Sylhet highway under Madhabpur Sadar upazila of the district on Thursday evening.

The identities of the deceased couldn’t be known immediately.

Police sources said a rashly driven Dhaka-bound truck knocked them down on Sylhet-Dhaka highway around 5:45pm, leaving a woman dead on the spot and another man injured critically.

Locals rushed him to Madhabpur Upazila Health Complex where on duty doctors declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge of Madhabpur Thana Abdul Basit confirmed the matter to banglanews.
