LAXMIPUR: At least eight people including four policemen were injured in a gunfight in east Rajapur area of Chandraganj under Sadar upazila of the district on Friday.

The injured police men are -Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Sohel Mia, Constable Arfan, Sumon Hossain and Sahab Uddin.

Inspector of police (investigation) of Laxmipur Sadar Thana Rokibul Hasan told banglanews, “A police team in a drive went to the area, then sensing the presence of police, the robbers opened fire aiming police. In reply police also opened fire, leaving four eight people including four policemen.”

Meanwhile, police held a robber with a local gun and two rounds bullets from the spot.
