KHAGRACHHARI: A supporter of Jana Samhati Samiti (JSS) was shot dead and another one injured by miscreants in Beltali area under Laxmichhari upazila of the district on Saturday noon.

The deceased was identified as Narayan Marma, 25.

Local sources said that some 4/5 armed youths opened fire aiming the two persons around 2:00pm, leaving Narayan Chakma and Jiten Chakma bullet wounded.

Later, Narayan Marma died on way to Upazila Health Complex.

JSS Laxmichhari unit President Jotish Chakma blamed United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF) for the attack.

Beside, UPDF Publications and Publicity Chief Miron Chakma declined their connection in the attack.

Officer-in-Charge of Laxmichhari Thana Bahar Mia confirmed the matter to banglanews.
