CHITTAGONG: Customs officers held a man with 53 gold bars, worth about TK 2.5 crore, from Shah Amanat International Airport in the port city on Monday morning.
The gold consignment, weighing 6.8 kilogram, was recovered from the passenger of Bangladesh Biman coming from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, around 8:15am.
The detainee is Anis, of Boalkhali upazila of Chittagong.
Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation assistant director Nahid Noeshad Mukul confirmed the matter to banglanews.
