DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed her deep grief over the death of Awami League lawmaker Shawkat Hossain Hiron.      

In a statement, Sheikh Hasina said Hiron transform Barisal into Venice of East with his sincerity and hard work. People of Barisal will remember him forever.                          

He was the friend of people and partner of their well and woe. By his death Barisal lost a social worker and good               politician. It’s an irreparable loss for them, it added signed by PM’s special assistant Mahbubul Haque Shakil.    

The Premier seeks the eternal peace of the departed soul    and pays her deep empathy to the bereaved family.             

Former Barisal city mayor, also Barisal Awami League president, Shawkat Hossain Hiron passed away at the Apollo Hospitals in the capital on Wednesday morning.
