MOULVIBAZAR: A minor girl was killed in a road accident in Basirpur area of West Juri Union of the district Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Munni, 7, daughter of Mainul Mia of Basirpur area.

Locals said a rashly driven truck knocked the girl down while she was crossing the road at Basirpur in the afternoon, leaving her dead on the spot.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Juri Thana Sub-Inspector Ratan Kanti Das said, “Police seized the truck but the driver managed to flee the scene.”
