PIROJPUR: A minor allegedly died of wrong treatment in Kaukhali upazila of the district on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Shahnaj, 12, student of class-III of Keundia Government Primary School and daughter of Shahidul Islam, resident of the area.

Local sources said that Shahnaj was admitted into Mukti Clinic with appendicitis complexity around 5:00pm. She was under supervision of the Medical Officer of Kaukhali Upazila Health Complex Dr. Mainul Islam.

She was allegedly killed at the operation theatre for applying excessive sedation for surgery, locals added.

Father of the deceased Shahidul Islam claimed that her daughter died of wrong treatment and for negligence of the doctors.

However, police held the accused doctor Mainul Islam in this regard.

Officer-in-Charge of Kaukhali Thana Sultan Mahmud confirmed the matter to banglanews.
