DHAMRAI (DHAKA): A motorcyclist was killed as a passenger bus knocked him down in a road accident near to Dhulivita Bus Stand on Dhaka-Aricha Highway Friday.

The deceased was identified as Sazzad Hossain Faruk, 25, son of Jahangir Hossain, of Gopalpur village under Dhamrai Thana.

Locals said a Paturia-bound bus of Jatrisheba Paribahan from Dhaka knocked a motorcycle coming from opposite direction in the area at 1pm, leaving the bike rider dead on the spot.

The bus driver managed to flee the scene though locals held the bus, they added.

On information, Dhamrai Thana police recovered the body and the vehicle.

Dhamrai Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdur Rashid told to banglanews that the deceased’s body has been sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital Morgue for autopsy.
