RAJBARI: Two teenage girls drowned in Padma River in Sadarchar area under Pangsha upazila of the district Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Swapna, 13, a class VII student of Habashpur Secondary Girls School, daughter of Kalam Matabbar, and Shahana, 14, a class VIII student of the same school, daughter of Khaled Baypari of the area.

Those girls were missing when they went for bath in the river wearing sharee after ending Pahela Baishakh celebration Monday. The bodies were recovered at 8:00am Tuesday.

UP chairman Mamun Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
