KISHOREGANJ: An Awami League leader was killed as lightning struck him in Chipahati village under Itna upazila of the district on Thursday morning.

The deceased was identified as Matiur Rahman, 60, president of Itna Upazila Krishak League.  

Sources said that Matiur came out from home to go Shapla Bonde when it was drizzling. At that time, a lightning struck him, leaving him dead on the spot around 7:00am.
