DHAKA: Victim of Sreepur gas line blast succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Anwar, 38, son of Ali Majhi, hailed from Moura village under Dohar Thana of Dhaka.

Anwar, an employee of a local textile mill, was suffering from burn injuries in a fire incident caused by gas pipeline explosion at Sreepur, Gazipur.

Locals source that a fire broke out on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway following an explosion of gas pipeline during expansion work of the highway on Thursday evening, leaving 10 people inured and damaging 50 roadside shops, two houses and a mosque.

Six of the injured were admitted to DMCH where Anwar succumbed to his injuries.
