Barakat terms VVIP, CIP “thieves”

DHAKA: Noted economist of the country Professor Abul Barakat on Saturday categorically said “very very important person (VVIP) and commercially important person (CIP) of the country are thieves”.

“The very very important person (VVIP) and commercially important person (CIP) of the country are thieves”. It is contradictory with the spirit the liberation war to preserve seats for them,” he said.

Abul Barakat, also chairman of the state-run Janata Bank, came with the observation while addressing a program of the bank, at BCIC auditorium in the city.

Directors of the bank Abu Naser, Syed Bazlul Karim and Mahbubur Rahman Hiron also spoke.
