SUNAMGANJ: A housewife was allegedly killed by her husband in Bhoishob village of Mohanpur union under Sadar upazila of the district on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Papiya, 26, wife of a Kamal Mia of the village.

Local sources said ‘mentally sick’ Kamal Mia hit his wife with an iron rod in the noon, leaving her dead on the spot.

Confirming the matter, Mohanpur UP Chairman Tajul Islam told banglanews relatives held the husband.

Sunamganj Sadar Thana Officer-in-Charge Jan-e-Alam told banglanews that they sent police forces to the spot.
