DHAKA: Many singers did not turn up to have the last glimpse of legendary singer Bashir Ahmed who died in the capital on Saturday night.
Some of the present time’s popular singers were direct students of Bashir Ahmed. Among them are Konokchanpa, Baby Nazneen and Shakila Zafar.
The body of the renowned singer was kept on the ground floor of his Mohammadpur residence in the morning.
Apart from relatives, many fans of Bashir Ahmed gathered there, but not his student-singers.
“It’s so painful that the popular singers did not come to pay respect to legendary Bashir Ahmed,” said lyricist Nasir Ahmed.
“May be they will come later on,” he said.
Among the music personalities who came to Bashir Ahmed’s house were Azad Rahman.
Also came composer Atiqur Rahman and singer Apel Mahmud.
