DHAKA: Police detained a man with a total of Indian Rupee 80 lakh in Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport area of the city on Sunday.

The detainee--Alauddin, 30--was held at 1:00pm.

Officer-in-Charge of Airport Thana Shah Alam said, “On suspicion, police searched him when he went out of the airport and found the currency.”

During the primary investigation, Alauddin confessed that a woman gave him the money and her details identity has not been known yet, the OC added.

A case was filed in this connection.
