JHENAIDAH: An activist of Jamaat-e-Islami was found dead at Mamunshia village under Sadar upazila of the district on Monday morning.

The deceased was identified as Abul Kalam, 38, Union Parishad member of Elangi union under Kotchandpur upazila of the district and resident of the area.

Victim’s family sources claimed that Abul Kalam was abducted on Friday.

Police sources said that Abul Kalam was shot dead by miscreants and dumped the body in the area.
Being informed from locals, police recovered the body from a field of Bakultala area of the Mamunshia village around 7:30 am.

The body was sent to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Officer-in-Charge of Jhenaidah Sadar Thana Iqbal Bahar Chowdury confirmed the matter to banglanews.
