NATORE: Two people received bullets injury in a clash between Jamaat-e-Islami and police in Harishpur upazila of the district on Monday morning.

The injured are- Samsul Islam Kollol, former General Secretary of Natore MS College unit Chhatra Shibir, the student wing of Jamaat, and another is yet to be identified.

Locals said that as per centrally declared program, district unit of Jamaat-e-Islami brought out a procession around 8:00am.

But police obstructed the procession, and then Jamaat men started throwing brick chips aiming police. In reply, police fired rubber bullets and tear shells, leaving the duo injured.

Confirming the matter, Natore Sadar Thana Officer-in-Charge Aslam Uddin told banglanews, “The situation is now under control and the injured were sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.”
