DHAKA: Ekushey Television (ETV) sued five persons including the Director of Sir Salimullah Medical College and Mitford Hospital Brigadier General Jakir Hasan for their alleged involvement and negligence of responsibility in journo assault case.

The Director of the private terrestrial channel of the country M Jahidul Islam filed the case with Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court on Monday morning.

The journalists of ETV claimed that, earlier on Saturday intern doctors, staffs and even high officials of the Medical College Hospital beat Cameraman Monirul Islam and Reporter Ilias Hossain while they were covering news at the medical premises.

However, the Magistrate of CMM court Keshob Roy Chowdhury received the statement of the plaintiff Jahidul Islam and adjourned the court for further order.
