CHITTAGONG: Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) submitted charge sheet against Hefazat-e-Islam Senior Nayeb-e-Amir, also president of a part of Islami Andolan Oikkojot, Mufti Isharul Islam for not submitting property statement.

Deputy Director of Chittagong divisional office HM Akhtaruzzaman submitted the charge sheet to Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court (CMM) of Chittagong on Monday morning.

HM Akhtaruzzaman told banglanews, “We received the allegation of earning illegal wealth by Mufto Izhar. And following that a notice was sent to him to submit property details. But he did not reply the notice which is the violation of section 2 of ACC act-2004.”

Later, following the allegation the anti-graft body filed a case against him with Khulshi Thana for violating section 2 of ACC act-2004.

Earlier on October 7, 2013, three people died in a explosion at a room of a dormitory of Al Jamiatul Ulum Al Islamia Madrasa in port city’s Lalkhan Bazar where Mufti Izhar was the accused for the incident.
