MYMENSINGH: A Mymensingh court on Monday placed four leaders of banned Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) on 10-day fresh remand for their involvement in snatching three death-row convicted extremists.
Mymensingh Amali Court-4 passed the remand order in the noon.
Sources from the court said the judge passed the order against four JMB cadres in two cases with Trishal Thana after the Investigation Officer (IO) produced them before the court with a remand plea.
On February 23, three convicts of Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) escaped from a prison van at Trishal upazila in Mymensingh district.
A police man was killed and two others were injured when JMB cadres snatched the prisoners at gunpoint in a daring attack in broad daylight.
