4 granted bail in Dhanmondi ground intrusion case

DHAKA: Three architects and a former star player have been granted bail in Dhanmondi ground intrusion case.

They urged all to keep the people’s ground away from politics.

The architects are Mobassher Hossain, Iqbal Habib and Begum Salma Shafi while the former star player is Kamrunnahar Dana.

They surrendered before the CMM Court of Dhaka Tuesday and were granted bail.

Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club had filed a case against them on April 18 on charge of intruding the ground as some environmental activists entered the field recently to raise their demand for keeping the ground open for all.

Architect Mobassher Hossain, one of the leading personalities in the ongoing movement, said that the ground is a property of the city corporation.

“As people are owner of the field, they have the right to enter the ground,” he told newsmen while coming out of the courtroom after they were granted bail.

“We will keep our movement continued,” he said.
