Tributes to temporary altar in Savar

SAVAR: The families and relatives of Rana Plaza victims paid homage and floral wreaths at a temporary altar in Savar on Thursday commemorating the tragic incident on that day.         

People from all walks of life gathered there to show respect to the victims.                                                                  

Different socio-cultural organizations along with political parties, students, teachers and others also showed their respect to the brave hearts.        

Gono Forum President Dr Kamal Hossain participated in the programme.

Addressing the programme, he said the victims of Rana Plaza and their relatives and families should get adequate compensation from the government within a short time.                                                        

Dr Kamal Hossain expressed hope that there should not be anymore tragedy like Rana Plaza collapse.   

A student of Jahangirnagar University, Humaiyun Ahmad said “We have gathered here to pay tribute to them who keep the country financially sound.”   

A total of 1,136 people were killed in one of the deadliest accident in history in the country as well as the world on April 24 last year.
