RAJSHAHI: Truck drivers put blockades on Dhaka-Rajshahi highway in Puthia upazila since Friday morning protesting the killing of a driver.

Vehicular movement on the both sides of the highway remains suspended. Police are on effort to bring normalcy there.

Truck diver Ashanta Bhattacharya, 45, was found dead in a mango garden at Jhalmalia Paulpara village of the upazila in the morning.

Hearing the death news, local truck drivers blocked the highways.

On information, police went to the spot to recover the body but failed being barred by the fellow drivers.

Puthia thana Officer-In-Charge Abu Obaida Khan confirmed the killing and the road blockade.

Police would look into the matter after filing the case, the OC said.
