NARAYANGANJ: A minor was killed in a road accident in Ukilpara area of the dictrict on Sunday morning.

The deceased was identified as Sabuj, 13, hosiery worker and resident of the area.

Witnesses said that a rashly-driven passenger bus ran over the boy in the area around 8:30am, leaving him dead on the spot.

Later readymade garment workers blockaded the roads in the area demanding punishment of the killer driver. The agitated workers also vandalized some vehicles.

However, police rushed to the place and obstructed them from their protest which led a chase and counter chase between police and the workers.

At one stage, police assured them to nab the bus driver and took the situation under control.

Officer-in-Charge of Narayanganj Sadar Model Thana Monjur Kader confirmed the matter to banglanews.
