TANGAIL: A four-member investigation committee has been formed to find out the cause of derailment of eight bogies of inter-city Drutajan Express train on Bangabandhu Bridge.
The committee headed-by Additional Director General, Infrastructure (ADGI) of Bangladesh Railway Amjad Hossain has been asked to submit the probe report within three days.
The committee was formed on Sunday night, says Railways minister Mujibul Haq in a press briefing at 4:00am.
The other members are--- Additional Director General Shah Jahir Islam, West Railway GM Abdul Aowal and Additional Director General RS Khalilur Rahman.
Train communication of north and west region has been stopped after eight bogies of Dinajpur-bound Drutajan Express derailed on Bangabandhu Bridge during a storm at 11:00pm Sunday.
No one was reportedly hurt in the incident while rescue train started rescue operation at 5:15am, says Officer-in-Charge of Bangabandhu Bridge West Thana Aminul Islam.
In the meantime, communications minister Obaidul Quader and Rail Minister Mujibul Haq visited the spot.
