DHAKA: An hour's spell of rain brought relief for city dwellers who were fighting with the scorching heat coupled due to rise in humidity and repeated power cuts.
Several areas of the city experienced rain on Monday morning that helped temperatures to fall, cooling off the residents roasting under the unrelenting and blistering sun for the previous days.
Dark cloud started covering the sky of the capital from Sunday afternoon bringing hope for the exhausted people but it started raining on Monday morning.
Earlier, the met office hinted about the rain but the drizzling also created some problems to office-bound people.
The excessive heat and humidity jointly makes it difficult to pass life normally.
A cool gust of wind blew over the city from yesterday night and later the rain with thunderbolt brought relief to the city dwellers.
In last several days the city dwellers and people across the country have gone through a record level of temperature.
