DHAKA: At least 18 people were killed and hundreds others injured as Nor'wester hit different parts of the country at Sunday midnight.

Banglanews Netrokona correspondent reports: At least 10 people, including four of a family, were killed and over four hundreds injured as Nor'wester lashed Kolmakanda, Mohonganj, Sadar and Barohatta upazilas of the district at midnight.

The deceased were identified as Afroza Begum, 22, her step sons- Sagar, 10, Rasel, 7 and Rana, 2, of Bishampur village, Mamun, 12, of Nayannagar village, Dipti Begum, 60, of Anandapur village, Ahaler Ma, 50, of Ranigaon, Soma, 9, of Mohonganj, Kadam Ali Munshi, 85, of Sadar and Emdad, 30, of Barohatta upazila.

District Administrator Dr Abul Kalam Azad and Officer-in-Charge of Kolmakanda Thana confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Sunamganj correspondent reports: Four people were killed and dozens others injured as Nor'wester hit Kalmakanda upazila of the district.

The deceased were identified as Shamsul Haque, 65, Diti, 10, Dudu Mia, 60 and Kachu Mia, 40.

In Rajbari, lightning killed one Farid Sheikh, 30, while he was fishing at Padma River.

Banglanews Sylhet correspondent reports: A 55-year-old woman, named Alfasunnesa, was killed during a storm on Sunday night.

In Naogaon, two people were killed after Nor'wester lashed some areas of the district on Sunday night.

Besides, Nor'wester lashed some others districts, damaged houses, crops and trees.
