MOULVIBAZAR: A person was killed and five others injured as robbers opened fire at locals in Hilalpur village of Mostafapur under Moulvibazar Sadar of the district on Tuesday morning. 

The deceased was identified as Nazrul Islam, 36.

Locals said that sensing the presence of dacoits, locals chased them. Then the dacoits opened fire at villagers while fleeing the scene, leaving a man dead on the spot and injuring five others.

Later, locals rushed the injured people to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital and informed police.

Confirming the matter Moulvibazar Model Thana Officer-in-Charge Abdus Saleh told banglanews, “Police sent the body to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital morgue.”
