DHAKA: Doctors, officials, and employees at Bangladesh Medical College & Hospital started an indefinite work abstention since Tuesday morning demanding increase to their job age and allowances.
Medical services at outdoor department and ticket sale at the counters remained halted since morning causing immense sufferings to the patients.
Treatment to the admitted patients, however, has been being given there.
Officers and employees Welfare Association general secretary Abu Sayed Mian told banglanews, “We are continuing with the movement to press home several specific demands.”
Treatment is being provide at the hospital sensitive places like intensive care unit (ICU), and emergency department and but, service to the general patients has remained shut,” he added.
