AK-22, ammo seized in city

DHAKA: Government Railway Police (GRP) seized ammunition, including AK-22 Rifle from capital’s Kamalapur Railway Station on Tuesday.

GRP sources said locals noticed an abandoned bag in the station area on Monday and informed police. On information, police recovered the bag which was full of firearms and explosive materials.

Police found an AK-22 Rifle, foreign knife, power gel and a lot of explosives, including detonators from that bag.

Officer-in-Charge of GRP Thana Abdul Mazid said the firearms might have brought by the same gang who brought firearms earlier.

Earlier on Monday, GRP seized huge firearms along with AK-22 Rifle and held two persons from the Kamlapur Station area.
