NAOGAON: Two minors were drowned in a pond at Chakdeb Janakallyan area of the district town on Tuesday noon.

The deceased were identified as Orion, 7, son of Shukur Ali and Shukhi, 8, daughter of Shahidul Islam, residents of the area.

Local sources said that the minors fell into the pond adjacent to their house while playing with other children near its bank around 1:00pm.

After a while their families and locals started searching and later found them floating on pond water.

They were rushed to Naogaon Sadar Hospital where on duty doctors declared them dead.
