MYMENSINGH: Workers of Hamid Garments have blocked the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway for about one hour demanding due salary and allowances in Bhaluka upazila of the district on Wednesday morning.
Agitated workers, who were discontent over their salary and allowances, blocked the road in Habirbari area of the upazila around 9:45am, to realize their demands, a spot account said.
Hundreds of vehicles have logged both sides of the road, creating suffering for the passengers, due to the blockade, reported banglanews correspondent.
Later, the workers withdrew the blockade from the highway after assurance from police of taking action to meet up their demands.
Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge of Bhaluka Thana Moniruzzaman told banglanews, they will discuss with garment owner over the payment of due salaries and allowance.
